The name alone is enough to evoke a cascade of emotions in the heart and soul of every Bengali. Kabir Suman (previously known as Suman Chattopadhyay) is one of the most influential figures in modern Bengali music — a singer, lyricist, composer, former politician and actor. He has been an integral part of Bengali cultural life for over three decades.
Since the release of his debut album “Tomake Chai” in 1992, Kabir Suman has consistently challenged conventions and redefined the language of Bengali songwriting. In this event, he will perform some of his most celebrated compositions along with his team, revisiting songs that have shaped generations.
Another prominent name in the Bengali creative fraternity, Chandril Bhattacharya is a National Award–winning, multifaceted artist from Kolkata. He is widely recognized as a columnist, contrarian, lyricist, poet, singer and filmmaker.
A key member of the iconic Bengali band Chandrabindoo, Chandril is known for his sharp wit, satire and socially incisive lyricism. In this event, he will share his thoughts, philosophies and narratives, weaving words around Kabir Suman’s songs and adding a deeper intellectual and emotional dimension to the evening.
